Student Life

banner

Saint Catherine of Siena School encourages diverse ways of learning, in and outside of the classroom.  Community service and local field trips provide our students with real-world experiences specifically geared to enhance our curriculum.

Athletic programs, peer mentoring, and a variety of student extra-curricular activities further contribute to help our students develop leadership skills and to learn to work productively as a community.

PEER MENTORING

Big Brother / Big Sister Program

Seventh and eighth grade students are involved as role models for younger students in our Big Brother / Big Sister program. Students plan events to mentor and support our younger SCS students.

Grades kindergarten through Grade 3 eat lunch together for 20 minutes and then play outdoors on our playground area for 20 minutes. Lunch/Playground adult supervisors monitor the children at all times.

Grades 4 through 8 also eat lunch together for 20 minutes after the younger children have finished,  and then play outdoors on our playground area for 20 minutes. Lunch/Playground adult supervisors also monitor the older children at all times.

On inclement weather days, all students spend recess playtime in the classroom where various indoor activities and games are available.
