St. Catherine of Siena School will have a delayed opening today, February 13, 2017. Grades K – 8 will start at 10:00. PreK will begin at 10:30. Morning Care will be provided for students who are enrolled. Teachers will report at 9:30.

The second grade recently completed a STEM project concerning oil spills and our environment. After reading about oil spills and their affects on the environment, we simulated an oil spill using foil containers, water and vegetable oil.The students were challenged to create skimmers to clean up the oil spill using given materials. Students then tested their skimmers and reflected upon their experience. How would you change your design? What would you have done differently?
